The Paul Strand Project

This was the Paul Strand Project. Paul Strand was a Photographer born October 16, 1890 and died March 31, 1976. he like to take photos with lighting and people. In class we had to try to re-create his photos. The first picture I have is of a  bicycle's back tire and some of the gears in it. He like to take close up photos of things also. He had taken a picture of a bicycle wheel and I knew i could re-create that so I took like 5 different photos of the bike's back wheel and this seemed like the best one. The second picture here is of my fence. Like I said before he loved to take photos that had to do with lighting. I waited until the sun started to set and I went out side to see if i could find good lighting photo's and this was the best one i took. The last picture I took is of my friend Thomas. Paul Strand liked to take photo of just single people and their environment around them or something about them. So I took Thomas and he was playing with his phone. Which shows what our generation is about.

  1. Thoughtful post, and stunning photographs. Keep this up and you'll end up with an A+ for this course... Great job, and thank you for the link, the photographer you spoke about uses a lot of high contrast in her work, reminds me of Paul Strand. When we get our studio you will be able to try out some of her techniques. It will be fun.
