Natural Light Portraiture

This project was based on showing natural light and we had to take portrait of someone's interest or everyday life. All three of these photo's have my friend Grace in them. The first photo describes how sometime's she wishes she could just take a break during school and just relax. The second photo basically says the same thing. The third photo is her everyday life in photography.

Nigel Barker's Work

Nigel Barker

One of my favorite photographers is he himself , Nigel Barker!  I love watching America's Next Top Model.(A.N.T.M). He is mostly the one taking the photo's. Nigel was born in London April 27, 1972. Barker is married to Cristen Chin Barker, a model who has been working with Cover Girl since 1999. "That night" Barker said, "I called my mom and said , I've met this girl, I'm gonna marry her." They now have two children Jack and Jasmine.

5 Rules of Composition (Scott Kelby)

 #1 Rule of Thirds:
Don't put main object in direct middle of photo.

#2 Leading Lines:
Shadows or lines that led you down a hall or tunnel...etc.

#3 Fill Frame:
Don't leave a bunch of extra space.

#4 Patterns:
If all objects are the same and one is different it adds interest.

#5 Frame:
Example: If you take a picture of a window with activity outside the window the window now becomes the frame.

Some Photo's Taken By Mike Ruiz and his Modeling Photos

Mike Ruiz

Mike Ruiz is a world renowned photographer. He is also a former model, an actor, spokesperson, and a creative director. Mike was born and raise in Montreal, Canada and at the age of 20 he moved to the states with just $300 dollars in his pocket and a desire to be in the entertainment world. After working for more than a decade as a successful model his true calling came into focus one Christmas morning, when he received a gift of a lifetime: his first camera. His whole life was about to change. Soon teaching himself how to use the camera and taking pictures all the time, to this day he's still clicking away. Mike has done photo shoots with Betty White, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and more! He has also been in the panel of Canada's Next Top Model. He plans to go where ever his camera takes him!

Imogen Cunningham

Was born Portland, Oregon in 1883. She liked to take close up photos of flowers. Here are some of them...
This photo is of Calla Lily. In this photo you can see the petals and the details in them. You can also see the stamen in the middle of the flower. She really got good detail in this flower, It shows more then what you would see when looking at at the flower in person.

Hand Held

While our room is being worked on, my teacher wanted to show us a movie called "Hand Held". It's about a photojournalist Mike Carroll one of the first photographers to travel to Romania after the fall of the communist regime of Nicolae CeauÈ™escu in 1989.When he arrived, he walked into one the most horrific scenes in the 20th century. His photographs and heart wrenching stories of the pediatric AIDS epidemic in Romania ran in the Boston Globe and New York Times and opened the eyes of the western world to the plight of Romanian children. Carroll's twenty-year journey to bring aid tot he children in a country that he hardly knew, through the organization he founded, Romanian Children Relief (RCR). What followed was a twenty- year odyssey for Mike and hes colleagues as they fought to bring help to a population of children in need.

Extra Credit Action Photo's

Illusion

This is a very cool photo that I took when taking action photo's. This is Grace we had her walk off a table to try to get an action photo, but by accident we all use flash at the same time. Little did I know that it was a good thing that we did that. If you look at the picture closely you will notice that Grace's shadow looks like a 20 year old women, but Grace is only 14. This illusion  was very cool so I thought I would share this photo with you guys.

Action Photo's

These are some photos we took in photo's we took during Photography class out side in the parking lot. They are called action photo's. It's when someone or something moves and you capture a photo, but your shutter speed is up so high that you don't catch any blur in the photo is like a motion frozen in time. These are the ones I took.

The first one I took is of the photography class. The person in the middle who seems to be crating a hulk smash is Ally. She wanted to try to recreate a Hulk Smash. So we found a crack in the ground to make it look like she had created that crack with her fist. Then we had the class jump in the air to make it look like Ally had punched the ground so hard that is caused everyone to fly in the air.

The second photo I took is of Lauren ( On the left) and Grace (On the right). This photo is like a karate fight. Lauren took Tiquando before so she knew all the moves. Grace is very flexible, So we took their two skills and used them in this photo.

This is the third picture I took. This is of Lauren. We went around the school taking photos and this was one of them. This is kind of like the old cartoons when the characters run off the cliffs and remain in mid air. We had Lauren walk off a table and act like she was not going to fall, like the table kept going. It looks like she has no idea that there is no table left to walk on.

The Paul Strand Project

This was the Paul Strand Project. Paul Strand was a Photographer born October 16, 1890 and died March 31, 1976. he like to take photos with lighting and people. In class we had to try to re-create his photos. The first picture I have is of a  bicycle's back tire and some of the gears in it. He like to take close up photos of things also. He had taken a picture of a bicycle wheel and I knew i could re-create that so I took like 5 different photos of the bike's back wheel and this seemed like the best one. The second picture here is of my fence. Like I said before he loved to take photos that had to do with lighting. I waited until the sun started to set and I went out side to see if i could find good lighting photo's and this was the best one i took. The last picture I took is of my friend Thomas. Paul Strand liked to take photo of just single people and their environment around them or something about them. So I took Thomas and he was playing with his phone. Which shows what our generation is about.
